  • Slow week in all activities as certificate creation drops 72% from previous week.

In the week ending 26th May 2019, ESC creation was as follows:

  • Weekly creation was 32,120 ESCs down 77% compared to the previous week’s creation of 119,791 ESCs
  • The average for the last 3 weeks is 75,580 ESCs
  • Commercial Lighting contributed 18,813 ESCs (59%) compared to 45,160 ESCs (38%) the previous week
  • HEER contributed 7,445 ESCs (23%) compared to 17,336 ESCs (14%) the previous week.
  • The ESC spot price was $20.40 COB Friday, up $0.10 from the previous Friday.

WEEKLY VEU ANALYSIS WE 26th MAY

Headlines – Certificate creation over 100,000 4 weeks in a row  

  • For the 4th week running certificate creation was over 100,000 with a 3 week average of 130,000.
  • 34 back on top with 64,000 certificates created, almost half of the weekly total across all activities.
  • Consecutive strong weeks of creation see a $1.50 drop in spot price.
  • The 2019 target has now been achieved with a 71,000 certificate surplus.

 

  • The VEEC price dropped $1.50 for the week to $21.00 from last week’s high of $22.50.
  • The 2019 target is 6.3M with currently 6,371,317 already Registered or Created.
  • Meaning the 2019 target has been achieved and is in surplus 71,000 certificates.
  • The 2020 target is 6,500,000.
  • This means in total, the scheme needs to be create 6,428,683 VEECs between today and the end of 2020. (83 creation weeks)
  • Average creation for 2019 to this point has been 75k VEECs/week.
  • To achieve the 2020 target we need to average 76k certificates per week.
  • Current 3-week average is 130k VEECs/week.
  • Targets for 2021, 2022 & 2023 are being discussed at the moment and will be published soon.

In the week ending 26th May 2019, VEEC creation was as follows:

  • 138,195 up 17% compared to the previous week’s creation of 117,737.
  • The average for the last 3 weeks is now 130,715.
  • Commercial Lighting contributed 64,367 (47%) compared to 44,291 (37%) the previous week.
  • Updated 21A contributed 39,964 VEECs (28%) created compared to 51,918 VEECs (44%) the week before.
  • The VEEC spot price was $21.00 COB Friday, down $1.50 from the previous Friday.

Headlines

  • Metered Baseline project leads to high weekly creation, even though Commercial lighting slightly down.

In the week ending 19th May 2019, ESC creation was as follows:

  • Weekly creation was 119,791 ESCs up 60% compared to the previous week’s creation of 74,829 ESCs
  • The average for the last 3 weeks is 77,369 ESCs
  • Commercial Lighting contributed 45,160 ESCs (38%) compared to 59,596 ESCs (80%) the previous week
  • HEER contributed 17,336 ESCs (14%) compared to 7,642 ESCs (10%) the previous week.
  • The ESC spot price was $20.30 COB Friday, down $0.10 from the previous Friday.

WEEKLY VEU ANALYSIS WE 19th MAY

Headlines – 21A last week’s highest performing activity

  • 21A created more certificates than 34 last week, having a record creation of 52,000 certificates.
  • 34 was down 31,000 certificates on previous weeks creation.
  • Total creation was also down from previous week, despite strong creation in 21A.

 

  • The VEEC price rose to $22.50 from $22.00 on the back of one 25k trade late on Friday afternoon.
  • The 2019 target is 6.3M with currently 6,232,927 already Registered or Created.
  • Meaning the 2019 target requires only 67, 073 more VEECs to be created between now and the end of the year to satisfy this target.
  • At current creation rates this will be reached next week.
  • The 2020 target is 6,500,000.
  • This means in total, the scheme needs to be create 6,567,073 VEECs between today and the end of 2020. (84 creation weeks)
  • Average creation for 2019 to this point has been 72k VEECs/week.
  • Current 3-week average is 118k VEECs/week.

  • Updated 21A contributed 44,406 VEECs (32%) created compared to 44,406 VEECs (32%) the week before.
  • The VEEC spot price was $22.50 COB Friday, Up $0.50 from the previous Friday
