Halogen Lamp

The Halogen lamp is a type of incandescent lamp. The halogen lamp produces a brighter whiter light for the same amount of energy used, due to the setup of the filament.  The light output of a halogen lamp is a closer match to true sunlight than a standard incandescent lamp.  The Emerald Planet halogen GLS is 30% more efficient in light output than an ordinary incandescent bulb of similar voltage and wattage.

The filament of a halogen lamp is enclosed in a sealed pouch of a mixture of argon, krypton, xenon and other gases. When tungsten evaporates from the filament, the chemicals in the gas mix with it and redeposit it on the filament. This means less decay of the filament and less blacking of the glass, so light output remains strong and the bulbs last longer.

A good quality Halogen lamp will last significantly longer than its comparative incandescent lamp. The emerald Planet halogen lamps last from 4,000 to 10,000 hours(between 4 and 10 years) depending on the style of lamp, compared to a normal incandescent lamp which will only last for 1,000 hours this leads to a reduction in waste materials and maintenance time.
