Emerald Planet CFL Parts

The CFL's or energy saving lamp is a type of fluorescent lamp. CFLs have been designed to replace your existing incandescent globes.

The CFL has come a long way since it was first released and the size and quality of today’s CFL’s is hardly recognisable when compared to what was around 8 or even 3 years ago.

Environmentally CFL’s have fantastic credentials.  A CFL can save 80% of your electricity when compared to an incandescent bulb.

Today’s T2 technology means that the standard 14w CFL gives off more light from a smaller globe than the old 75w incandescent globes.

Emerald Planet CFL’s do not use liquid mercury at all.  Instead they use less than 3mg of Mercury amalgam which is an alloy of mercury combined with other metals.  It is a more eco-friendly and safer alternative to liquid mercury because mercury vapour is not released until it reaches around 100°C under atmospheric pressure.

Emerald Planet CFL’s are certified for use in Australia.  They have been through extensive NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities - is Australia's national laboratory accreditation authority) testing for certification to Australian standards and registered.

All Emerald Planet globes go through a two hour test process before they are packed and any CFL’s exhibiting any variations in quality during this process are disposed of. We warrant all of our products.  Should there be a problem with our globes we take it very seriously and encourage any feedback you can give.
